Wireless World, 1945

One of the most exciting objects acquired as part of the Clarke library is this Remington Noiseless Portable typewriter, on which Clarke wrote a famous essay on geostationary satellite communications in 1945.

Titled 'Extra-Terrestrial Relays,' the article was published in Wireless World and describes how orbiting space stations might one day enable instant global communications. The essay may be seen in the following images.
